After having nine children in as many years, you might think Rayna and Malcolm Warriner's brood is complete.

The couple support their six girls and three boys on the wages Mr Warriner earns as a police sergeant, without the aid of benefits.

Their oldest child, Eryn, is nine. A year after her birth, the couple had Jackson, now eight, followed two years later by Harrison, six. 3 U) D) S# ~1 U  ^# z  i2 X; _

4 m2 s4 w# U/ F8 X/ GIn March 2005, Rayna had triplet girls Ilish, Romany and Meredith, who are now 23 months.

Then on January 27 she gave birth to Avie, weighing 7lb 11oz, at Poole Hospital in Dorset. 1 f/ F0 m. G) t7 Y! ~

She had a difficult labour this time round, and needed a blood transfusion after problems with the placenta.

But despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood. * _: z7 `- y: i4 P1 {) ^

"We are not planning to have another one at the moment but we’ll have to wait and see what comes.

"People think we are mad but the children are our life and bring us so much pleasure.

"When we married we said we’d have six, then my husband joked that we’d have eight to wind my mother up, but we’ve gone beyond a joke now."

Mrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories.

To accommodate their family, the couple, from Bournemouth, have had an extra-large bath fitted and have extended their six-bedroom detached house. 5.35.249.644 G0 p/ I1 C7 H

They struggle to organise even a weekend away as hotels and holiday homes are unable to accommodate so many children.

6 P( j; B) u0 _$ F* s1 zMr Warriner, 45, who is applying for promotion to inspector to help support his brood, added: "When we got married ten years ago, Rayna said she’d like four children and I joked that I wanted eight.
