See it at JPL Open House May 14 and 15The Spacecraft Assembly Facility of NASA s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., was constructed in 1961 to support NASA s Ranger and Mariner missions to the moon, Venus and Mars. America had entered the Space Age just three years earlier, with the launch of the JPL-built Explorer 1 spacecraft. The Spacecraft Assembly Facility, also known as JPL Building 179, originally had just one high bay, the large chamber now named Hi stanley flask gh Bay 1. It is about 80 feet by 120 feet  about 24 by 36 meters . In contrast to the cleanliness standards for spacecraft assembly today, in the early days of the facility, personnel were even permitted to smoke inside this high bay. All JPL-built spacecraft through the Viking Orbiters  launched to Mars in 1975  were built in High Bay 1. At times during the 1960s, as many as five different spacecraft were being assembled at the same time in the facility. After the original construction of the high bay, the System Test Complex on the south side of the high bay s windows was added. A second high bay, about 70 feet by 70 feet  21 meters by 21 meters  was finished in 1976  stanley water flask to support the Voyager Project. Spacecraft assembled in High Bay 2 have included Voyager 1 and 2, Galileo and Cassini. The project being assembled and tested in High Bay 1 in spring 2011 is the Mars Science Laboratory, including its rover, Curiosity. The mission is scheduled for launch in November 2011. Mars rovers stanley hrnek  Spirit and Opportunity were also b Fwjl 5.5G touted as the network to bring improved enterprise connectivity
Jo stanley cup hnson  JohnsonBy Alice ParkSeptember 23, 2020 10:42 AM EDTJohnson  Johnson announced today  Sept. 23  that it is launching a large-scale Phase 3 test of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate, which was developed based on science supported by the National Institutes of Health. The vaccine, being tested through the company   Janssen Pharmaceuticals arm, will be the fourth to enter late stage studies, following candidates from Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca. Unlike those vaccine candidates, which all require two shots, JJrsquo  vaccine involves a single injection. That means it could require half the number of doses to immunize the same number of people.JJrsquo  study, named ENSEMBLE, will recruit 60,000 volunteers across eight countriesmdash;Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Peru, South Africa and the U.S. Given the data showing that some groups are more vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19, Dr. Paul Stoffels, chief scientific officer at JJ, said the company and its study leaders are focusing on ensuring that the study includes a diverse population of participants. The vaccine uses a weakened cold virus, called AD26, to deliver the COVID-19 virusrsquo  genet stanley cup ic material to the right immune cells in the body. Those cells then process the viral material to train  stanley cup the immune system to recognize and destroy any similar incoming virus. Based on studies in hamsters and monkeys, the vaccine produced sufficient immune responses that co |
